FREE HAF CAMP PLACES

WHO IS ELIGIBLE

Synergy Sports Coaching would like to invite your child(ren) to our Holiday Activities & Food Programme Camps (HAF) for FREE, that’s right your child’s place will be fully funded!

This opportunity is funded by the UK government and will provide access to free healthy meals and activities over the Easter, Summer and Winter school holidays

We receive funding to provide FREE child places on our Holiday Activities & Food Programme Camps working in partnership with Lincolnshire County Council.

To be eligible children must be:

* Primary school aged (in Reception, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Year 4, Year 5, or Year 6); and

* Be in receipt of benefits related free school meals.

Lincolnshire County Council also have discretion to use up-to 15% of the funding received to provide free places for children who are not in receipt of benefits related free school meals, but who they believe will benefit from the HAF provision provided. This may include:

* Children assessed by the local authority as being in need, at risk or vulnerable.

* Young Carers

* Looked after children or previously looked after children.

* Children with an EHCP (Education, health and care plan).

* Children who have low attendance rates at school or who are at risk of exclusion.

* Children living in areas of high deprivation or from low-income households who are not in receipt of free school meals.

* Children in transition phases between nursery & primary school or primary & secondary school.

Please note at this stage we are asking parents to express their interest in the HAF programme we hope to run during Summer 2022.

Confirmation of the programmes funding will be made on or shortly after 24th June 2022.

All applications of interest will be verified by your Childs school and successful applicants will be contacted by us directly via email (after 24th June 2022) and will receive a further email with the information of how to book places using our online booking system for absolutely FREE!

WHATS ON OFFER

Our HAF programme often consists of either a 1 or 2 day block, which you will be able to register your child to participate within.

Children can attend / parents can register for as many blocks as they wish, however please note all days booked MUST be attended.

The following holiday periods are accessible through our HAF programme (Limit: 60 children per block/day):

  • 10am – 12pm – Sports & physical activity (FREE healthy snacks provided)
  • 12pm – 1pm – Lunch break (FREE hot meal provided)
  • 1pm – 2pm – Nutrition, cooking & food preparation sessions
  • 2pm – 4pm – Enrichment Activities
  • 10am – 12pm – Sports & physical activity (FREE healthy snacks provided)
  • 12pm – 1pm – Lunch break (FREE hot meal provided)
  • 1pm – 2pm – Nutrition, cooking & food preparation sessions
  • 2pm – 4pm – Enrichment Activities
  • 10am – 12pm – Sports & physical activity (FREE healthy snacks provided)
  • 12pm – 1pm – Lunch break (FREE hot meal provided)
  • 1pm – 2pm – Nutrition, cooking & food preparation sessions
  • 2pm – 4pm – Enrichment Activities

Sports & activity mornings may consist of any of the following, but is not limited to the Sports & Enrichment activities listed below:

  • Football
  • Dodgeball
  • Cricket
  • Tennis
  • Tag Rugby
  • Netball
  • Handball
  • Archery
  • Fencing
  • Athletics
  • Basketball
  • Golf
  • Rounders
  • Boxercise etc.

 

Nutrition sessions in the afternoons may consist of any of the following, but is not limited to the topics listed below:

  • What a balance diet looks like?
  • How sugar can impact on our health?
  • The benefits of vitamins & minerals
  • Understanding the relationship between diet & exercise
  • Understanding how to select the right meals to fit within a balanced diet
  • To better understand food advertising etc.

Cooking/food preparation sessions in the afternoons may consist of, but is not limited to any of the following activities listed below:

  • Bread making
  • Creating a fruit salad
  • Slicing fruit
  • Peeling vegetables
  • Making a healthy sandwich
  • Squeezing fruit to make flavoured water
  • Taste tests etc.
